Beth Wingate Elected 2012 APMP COO

New APMP Board Members Announced

(Washington, DC) — December 6, 2011 — The Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP®), the worldwide authority for professionals dedicated to the process of winning business through proposals, bids, tenders, and presentations, today announced its new 2012 Board of Directors from its recently concluded 2011 elections.

Elections were held for the Chief Operating (COO) and the Director of Education APMP Board positions. Beth Wingate of Lohfeld Consulting Group ran unopposed for the COO position and officially wins her seat to serve as APMP’s COO in 2012, CEO in 2013 and Past CEO in 2014. She most recently served on APMP’s Board as its Director of Education for 2010 and 2011.

Beth Wingate, aka AppMaven and an APMP Fellow,has been an APMP member since 1996. She has more than 24 years’ proposal development, management, and corporate communications experience. She serves as Managing Director for Lohfeld Consulting Group, an APMP Authorized Training Organization (ATO), and specializes in helping government contractors create winning proposals. Prior to joining Lohfeld Consulting Group, Beth served as Proposal Center Director for Lockheed Martin and before that for 12 years’ as Proposal Center Director for Management Systems Designers, Inc. (MSD). Beth has written and taught a number of proposal development classes for Lohfeld Consulting Group, Inc. and MSD, Inc., including “Creating Winning Task Order Proposals” and “Creating Winning Proposals for Government Contractors”. Beth holds APMP accreditation

The vacant Director of Education position was contested by Ed Alexander of Shipley Associates, Michael Crook of SAIC, and Rosemary McDowell of Rosemary McDowell International. Mr. Alexander won the 2-year Director of Education Board seat by majority vote.

Mr. Alexander has been an APMP member since 1995 and was selected as an APMP Fellow in 2009. He also led Shipley effort to become the first Approved Training Organization (ATO) in the U.S. to provide coaching and administration of the APMP Foundation-level Accreditation examination and has taught over 20,000 training and professional development workshops in more than 15 countries (US, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, China, Singapore, Australia, UK, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Panama).

Ms. Wingate and Mr. Alexander will both begin their new APMP Board positions on January 2, 2012.
